One of the Buzz 'n' Read apps uses African-American English in the stories so that children who speak with the African-American English dialect don’t have to work TWICE as hard to try to sound out words while translating the story from another dialect (Standard English). You can check out recommendations from research studies about how to teach reading to Black children who speak AAE here.
